This is an award-winning, hands-on experience that will see you travel to one of our programme project sites in the developing world and become actively involved in vital building and renovation projects. This could include anything from restoring old school classrooms to building a village water pump.
Futurebuilding can for many be a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and the impact you make during your stay can play an invaluable part in the development of communities. It allows you to see first-hand the incredible benefits that your contributions can make to young people’s lives.
Futurebuilding is an important part of what we do at Childreach International, and so the projects are planned in a way that means everybody can get involved, from the more labour-intensive activities to lighter, but equally rewarding, tasks such as painting or plastering. The trips are organised with great flexibility in mind, allowing you to tailor your trip around your organisation.
Like all of our work at Childreach International, Futurebuilding projects are completed in close partnership with the local community. This gives local residents an important stake in the change taking place in their community, but also means that skilled local labour is on hand to tackle any tricky parts of the project.
Our projects normally last ten days, and take place all year round across several different countries in which Childreach International is active.
We ask that everyone who registers for a Futurebuilding project pays an initial non-refundable registration fee of £260 to secure their place. Once you have successfully registered, you will be asked to fundraise a minimum of £2,450 six weeks prior to departure.
This money will be used to fund your trip, and specifically covers:
Also included is a further donation to Childreach International so that you can help us support thousands more children worldwide, securing their rights to health, education and protection among many others.
Participants will be provided with a volunteer group leader to help them with meeting this target, whilst the Corporate and Community Fundraising Managers will also be there to provide further assistance where needed. Throughout the process you will be surprised at the support you can receive, and many of our participants have gone on to raise over double this target!
You will also receive a commemorative Futurebuilding certificate to congratulate you on your achievement and show formal recognition for your outstanding contribution to improving the lives of children in the developing world.
